Why solar, why now

Electricity has doubled. Your roof hasn't moved.

Grid electricity in the UK now runs at two to three times what it cost a decade ago, and it is not going back. Solar PV is the only upgrade that turns that volatility into a fixed asset on your property — one that pays you back every sunny hour for the next twenty-five years.

ANP Electrical has wired the West Midlands for thirty-five years. We are NAPIT registered, MCS Umbrella Certified for solar, and have put hundreds of systems onto homes and businesses across Cannock, Walsall, Stafford and Lichfield. Every design starts with your bills, not a catalogue.

01 · Domestic

Solar for your home.

A properly sized residential system pays for itself in seven to ten years and then keeps paying for another fifteen-plus. Add a battery and you are running the house on stored sunshine through the evening peak.

02 · Commercial

Solar for your business.

Warehouses, retail units, offices, farms and light industrial sites across the West Midlands are generating their own power and protecting their margins. Commercial solar typically pays back in five to seven years and counts toward Net Zero reporting from day one.

Our process

How a solar install actually runs.

Six clear stages, one point of contact from first phone call to final commissioning. No subcontractor handoffs, no surprises.

STEP 01

Free energy audit

We review 12 months of bills, usage patterns and any planned EV or heat pump loads. Takes 20 minutes by phone or email.

STEP 02

Site survey

Roof condition, pitch and orientation, shading analysis, inverter and battery location planning — all captured in one visit.

STEP 03

Fixed-price design

Detailed proposal with generation forecasts, payback period, warranty documents and a sensible finance option if you want one.

STEP 04

Install and commission

Scaffolding up, panels on, electrics connected, system commissioned, app configured. One or two days for most homes, three to five for commercial.

STEP 05

MCS & paperwork

MCS certificate, DNO approval, Smart Export Guarantee registration, warranty pack — all delivered digitally after handover.

STEP 06

Aftercare

Two years of workmanship warranty, annual performance check, and we are still here if you ever add a battery, EV charger or expand the array.

Why ANP

Solar fitted by electricians — not salespeople.

01

MCS Umbrella Certified

Every system is designed and commissioned to MCS standards, unlocking the Smart Export Guarantee tariff and 0% VAT on domestic installs.

02

NAPIT registered electricians

35 years wiring the West Midlands. The solar goes on the roof, the electrics are done properly below it, and Part P certification is included.

03

Designed around your usage

Every quote starts with 12 months of your bills. We right-size panels and batteries to your actual consumption — no oversized kits, no undersized compromises.

04

Local, contactable, honest

We live and work here. If you have a question after handover, you get the same electrician who designed the system — not a call centre.

Common questions

Solar, straight answers.

Is solar PV worth installing in the West Midlands?

Yes. The West Midlands averages around 950 kWh of generation per kW of panels per year — enough for a well-sized residential system to pay for itself in seven to ten years and a commercial rooftop array to achieve payback in five to seven. With battery storage and Smart Export Guarantee tariffs, the economics are better than they have ever been.

Are you MCS certified?

ANP Electrical works under an MCS Umbrella certification arrangement for solar installations, meaning every system we design and commission is MCS-compliant and qualifies your property for the Smart Export Guarantee tariff and any current grant schemes. We handle the paperwork end to end.

How big a system do I need?

We size systems to your actual consumption, not a one-size-fits-all kit. A typical 3-bedroom Cannock home uses 3,000–4,000 kWh per year and suits a 3.5–4.5 kW array. A small commercial unit might run 30,000+ kWh and justify 15–30 kW on the roof. We design from 12 months of your bills.

How long does installation take?

A domestic system is typically installed in one to two days. Commercial rooftop systems depend on scale — most small business installations (10–30 kW) take three to five days. We coordinate scaffolding, electrical connection and commissioning so it is one seamless job.

Do I need a battery?

Not strictly, but a battery typically doubles the percentage of your own solar that you actually use. Instead of exporting spare energy cheaply and buying back expensively at night, you store it and use it yourself. We model both with and without battery in every quote so the numbers are transparent.

What warranties do I get?

Panels: 25 years performance, 12–15 years product. Inverters: 10 years standard (extendable to 20). Batteries: typically 10 years. Workmanship: 2 years from ANP Electrical. All certificates supplied on handover.

Do you also install EV chargers to work with solar?

Yes. Solar-aware chargers like the Myenergi Zappi or Ohme Home Pro divert surplus solar straight into your car, so you can drive on free sunshine. We can design the solar + battery + EV charger as one integrated system.
